The Smart 2.0 is a reliable, assisted-braking belay device, perfect for indoor and sport climbing. It is used the same way as a classic belay plate, but in the event of a fall, the carabiner is pulled into the device, effectively jamming the rope. The extended arm enables controlled release and lowering, and smooth giving of slack when lead climbing. 

The Smart HMS is an ideal match for the device, offering smooth taking-in and giving of slack, a reliable lock up. The secondary gate/bar ensures the carabiner has been properly locked, and prevents unhelpful rotation of the carabiner.
